My greyhound had injured his paw during a zoomies session that required emergency vet intervention, and as it healed, it was impossible to keep him from licking and chewing at his stitches. ENTER, TIGER TOES! I chose these booties on a whim of hope despite my dog hating having his feet touched and much to my surprise he took to these booties without any adjustment period. Getting them on was probably the biggest challenge which had nothing to do with the product itself and everything to do with my dog being a really tall and reluctantly compliant subject and me being short (lol). Once on, he sniffed the booties, gave them a few licks before realizing he couldn’t get to his foot anymore and never paid them any attention again. It was a huge success! His foot was able to successfully finish healing in a few days thanks to this product.I was skeptical about the sock staying up on his back legs because greyhounds are so bony, but the Velcro strap was more than adequate. The grips on the outside of the booty did offer a bit of traction assistance on our hard floors, but since we were only using one bootie at a time, I can’t fully attest to how grippy they are. Easy to wash; I just used dish soap and agitated it in my hand in the sink. Even after a rinse through mud in the rain they came clean. I would highly recommend putting them in a mesh bag if machine washing though— the Velcro will grab onto other fabrics.

I chose the light blue so I could more easily keep track of when it needed to be cleaned, which was the best idea I had. The design is pretty nice, nicer than the others available seemed, however the top band is very thick and constricting and difficult to put on, even following directions, unless you have another person to hold the dog.The surface area with the grips looks decent but in hindsight, if older/senior dogs are slipping or unable to stand then the soft upper fabric doesn't help. My dog tends to get stuck if her feet get tired then she can't get up because there's only grip where her paws are. They should design something for the whole lower legs and backside, like a belt, but what do I know? And they still rotate and slip off. The velcro straps probably should have been higher or something that fitted like a harness around their back and stomach to secure it.They do look super adorable tho. She's a lhasa apso/shih tzu mix, so I just like watching her walk around now. She is a lot more confident now that she's not slipping and falling as much (but she also went to the groomers same day). I only put them on her back paws since it's her right back leg that has the weakness and I can rotate them for a laundry day.Def follow the size guide to as much as possible; we went with the medium for 2.25 inches width paws, and otherwise worked out. Honestly, a really great purchase, just minus a star for the poor placement of the velcro and slippage.
