I have this unit permanently installed in my boat, and it works as described. I'd give it 5 stars of teh lid and seat were a little sturdier. While I'm not concerned about them breaking, I could see where a rogue wave could have someone shifting enough to damage the seat. Outside of that, it's a good unit for the price. Another thing to be aware of, and I don't know if this is the case on all of these, but if it's been sitting in the heat for awhile, pressure can build up in the waste section, and release pressure upward ( ewww ) when you open the valve. So unless you are into that kinda thing, you might want to just open and close the valve before putting any pee or poo in the bowl.
