Our furnace arrived just in time for very cold weather . However, it appeared to be used . It’s damaged- frame bent several areas, knockouts missing and part missing . It was no fault of the delivery person - clearly packed that way

Worked for one year. Second winter it went out twice on cold nights, resulting in over a $1000 in repair charges. Then, a month later the fan completely broke and the furnace is unusable. Beware. This is a terrible furnace.

The furnace arrived in an undamaged box but the casing on the unit was bent and damaged. The damage alone made installation impossible. But the problem was further exacerbated by customer service from Dometic providing incorrect model # information for ordering, so the item that arrived would not have fit my trailer.

DFLA40211This must be why they have people trying to find all the other parts and limited pictures and even trying to find the correct furnace for do it yourself RVers. My furnace still works but have second thoughts on this furnace especially if the material the company is using is to thin.I noticed when just looking for parts the plastic wheel looked very flimsy. My current furnace original is still working and it appears RVs today are being made cheaply constructed for throwing away after 3-5 years.Replacement for Atwood furnace 8940DCLP-III.

NorthpointAs a fire fighter since 98, I know how important fire safety is.In December we had an RV tech chek out our furnace and they said it’s fine!A few months later my wife is smart and jumped into action when our 2020 Jayco Northpoint with a Dometic furnace caught fire in February 2023. It was -5 F degrees in Utah and I was at the fire station. She called me and said she smelled smoke. Our dog had alerted her and she got the kids and the dog into our truck. She turned off the breakers and the gas, which prevented a total loss of the trailer. When I came home, I found the furnace had burned a hole through the burn chamber and damaged the floor, wires, and pipes. The fire had also melted the water lines, which sprayed water and stopped the fire from spreading. I spent $8,000 to repair the damage and sent the furnace back to Dometic. They refused to reimburse me for anything. Jayco also denied any responsibility. I didn’t even get a discount on new parts. I hired an RV tech and showed them the receipts, but they didn’t care. I only asked for some help with the repair costs, not for extra expenses like lodging and loss of work. Both companies blamed each other and ignored me. I fixed the trailer and sold it. I will never buy a Jayco or a Dometic product again. If you care about your family, you should avoid them too. I was lucky that my wife acted fast and saved our family (my wife, four kids, and two dogs). I didn’t claim it on the insurance because I thought one or the other would take care of us. It also took months to get denied from Dometic. I didn’t have the furnace anymore so insurance would not cover it! I should have called insurance first! So we paid all of this out of pocket!#jayco #JaycoRV #jayconorthpoint #NorthPoint #dometic #DometicOutdoor #dometicfurnace #rvlife #rvfulltime #safteyfirst #familytime #SaveTheChildren #SaveOurChildren #JustDoIt #PSA #publicserviceannouncement #RVing #safetytips #safety #lifesafety #love #outdoorlife #outdoors #TravelGoals #traveltips #firefighters #fire #customerservice #customersatisfaction #trustVery Dissatisfied Customer.
