I bought this for a high functioning 5 year old autistic client of mine for her birthday. She is very dextrous, with above average fine motor skills (she is able to clasp a coat zipper independently, button tiny buttons, paint by number, etc), but she was unable to load the blocks in the compartment.They are not at all like regular dominos (light plastic and not completely rectangular). If you steer the train to do too much of a curve (not even close to a circle), the back wheel knocks the blocks down. You can only load approximately 15 or less blocks, and then you have to add another cartridge, but you have to keep turning off and on the train when you load it, because the pressure from securing the block cartridge in, sets the train in motion if it's on (and that typically knocks the blocks over as well).My client ADORED this train (as long as there were 3 adults continuously loading the blocks for her, and even we were having difficulty loading them in because they don't nest in easily). It would be great if it were rechargeable, rather than battery operated. Hopefully future models will take this into consideration.The positives: There are tons of blocks, and a zipper bag to hold them. The train lights and noises are adorable. When it works, it sets the blocks up nicely and evenly.

The idea of this train is awesome, however it doesn’t move. The lights and noises work, but doesn't move. 6 & 3 year old were super bummed. Now the kids are mad Santa gave them a broke toy.
