Had a 551551 filter on my splitter and the local filter store did not have it when it was time to change but they had 551553. I really couldnt see a difference visually and it has same threads. My log splitter hasnt complained either, hopefully doesnt. I didnt buy this filter from amazon but can say seems like a nice filter for log splitter, time will tell.

I got this filter as a replacement for the hydraulic filter on my Huskee 28 ton log splitter. It seems to work fine. The price here is one of the cheaper I’ve seen for this particular filter.
