I bought this to replace the model that uses RF receivers, I believe this is a much better and robust solution that does not rely on batteries or intermediary RF devices which can (and did) fail.With that said, while the instructions are detailed and comprehensive it may be a little daunting for non-professionals to understand and install. For someone like me, it took a while to figure out the wiring and setup instructions but eventually I got it and I'm happy with the set up now. I do recommend that you connect the power source to a UPS so that you do not lose access in the event of an power outage.
