Easy too use, just torque it to spec don’t need to go all the way in

I changed the brake pads on my 1997 Dodge Dakota, and soon after they started smoking on one side. One of the caliper bolts had come loose because it was stripped.I tried replacing the bolt, which didn't work, and considered the thread lock, but I didn't want it to be difficult to remove. This did the job!It cut a new, slightly larger, caliper bolt thread, and it's working perfectly after a few test rides. Yes, the price seems like a lot for one bolt, but when faced with the labor of replacing a caliper on an old truck, including bleeding the brake lines, the price was nothing. It comes with a tube of thread lock gel, but I didn't need it, so I would suggest only using it if you don't mind heating up your caliper to replace your brakes. I didn't need it, though. This got me back on the road less than an hour after it was delivered.

These will work for a bit... it is not a fix all. Its a bandaid. A better bandaid is a the heli coil repair kit pic I posted above. There is not enough metal on the steering knuckle for a prefered time sert repair so the heli coil is the only option for a similar repair. As you can see.... the oversized bolt backed out/loosened... brake dust cover destroyed a new (less than a year old) rotor. Means new rotors and pads needed... all ball joints were good. New calipers.. only thing it coule have been and was.... was this oversized bolt.... which upon inspection, backed out...

Works as intended. Kinda expensive for a single bolt but avoids a much more expensive repair.

This bolt worked PERECLTY! I own a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan and encountered a stripped rear caliper slide bolt. This bolt threads directly into the stripped hole of the OEM bolt. The threads are approximately one size larger and will tighten down perfectly in the stripped hole. It even has a built-in thread tap style cutter, so it cuts as you thread it in!! Tightened down to the required 26ft/lbs torque on the first shot. This saves you from having to replace the entire rear axle assembly which the bracket is built into. I would HIGHLY recommend this for anybody encountering a stripped bolt on the rear or front caliper. Chrysler used this same style caliper bolt on many different models, so verify this fits before purchase.Excellent buy would by again in a heartbeat. 100% totally worth the money, saves an entire rear knuckle/axle replacement.Tip: Make sure you start it straight on and not at an angle, I would recommend putting the other caliper slide bolt in first, then using the caliper as a guide for this thread cutting bolt.

Top hole where the caliper bolts on was stripped. Used this over sized caliper slide pin and it works great. Slide pin comes with lock tight on the threads and also come with a small tube of lock tight.

Worked like a charm for my 2004 Mark 4 VW Jetta. I thought I was going to have to time-sert the threads or replace the entire knuckle but this saved me the money and heartburn.
