Purchased the Dorman 425-368 Steering Shaft for Select Ford/Mercury Models on April 28, 2023.Steering Shaft was installed on a 2008 Ford Ranger XL Extended Cap Pickup Truck. After just 8 months, the boot that covers the knuckle assembly has split open in 3 places. The boot is there to protect the knuckle assembly from external debris. The manufacturing process for this rubber boot looks to be of very poor quality.Unfortunately, I would not give a recommendation to purchase this product.

Don’t waste your money on this poor quality, defective Dorman steering shaft. I installed it on my 2010 Ford Ranger truck and the steering was clunky AF! Especially noticeable when turning corners! I was very disappointed with the quality of this Dorman product… and made in China, which says it all!I bought the OEM Ford steering shaft and installed it. My steering wheel was smooth and silent… NO clunkiness or weird clunky noises. Always stick to Ford OEM parts!
