The dorman balancer came with 6 bent vanes and had no protective caps over the vanes,also the bolt that came with it was not secured and was freely moving around in the box with the balancer,which is why it got bent,I imagine.

This is yet another prime example of a quality Dorman product. It's precision and delicate part areas (shutter rings and cone) were very well protected with rigid plastic caps. A very light smearing of grease allowed the unit to slip on the crankshaft very easily. It included 2 different Woodruff keys- depending on your applications' needs. I chose to not use a new one- mine was in great shape, and there wasn't a need to mess with changing it. I chose to completely wipe the Harmonic Balancer down with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, then masked the belt sheave area- and leaving the handy shutter ring/cone protectors in place- I then painted and high temp clear coated the entire unit- to not only match my engines' color scheme- but to also protect it, being so close to the elements of daily driving, weather, and the effects of heat & corrosion. Over all- I highly recommend this quality Dorman part for your own use; it fit my '89 Buick Reatta 3.8L LN3 V6 perfectly, without any problems at all- contrary to any other reviews I've read here regarding this part.

I had to make some modifications on my 1989 Buick Riviera to make this fit; it's way bigger than the original, so some brackets has to be modified to clear this item....

This part is listed as fitting a 1990 Buick Reatta but it does not. It is about 1/4 inch wider than the OEM part and hits on the engine shock mount. I found this same part at other local auto stores and it was identical to the Amazon one. Had to go to OEM part for correct fit. Amazon accepted the return part without question and credited my cc within 2 days. Great service as always!!
