Can't say anything about the first product itself, since it never arrived... The second one came by UPS. Arrived a few days later, broken. Was not allowed to exchange. Had to return & wait 30 days for a refund. Had to place yet another order. Hopefully, the 3rd time's the charm. We'll see...

The initial inspection showed that my old damper had spun about 15 degrees. As I tried to install the new damper, it would only slide on a little and would not budge. I pulled it back off and realized the machining was different on the new one. I pulled out a brake hone and spent 20 minutes honing out the shaft hole to the correct tolerance. Then it installed as it should. Fixed the wicked vibration. My 98 explorer has 388,000 miles on it. My goal of 400,000 is well within reach.

The counterbore is not deep enough so you can’t engage the keyway before starting to “press” the balancer on with the bolt. If you are installing it with the engine out you might get away with it but not risking it with the engine in the truck.1997 Mountaineer 5.0 V8

Counter bore is not cut deep enough to get the keyway aligned before the bore gets tight on the crank. Also had a very rough casting.

Installed in a 2000 ford explorer 5.0 302. Make sure to head to your local auto parts store and get the installation tool.
