Lasted less than two years with below average milage. Split above lower hose and top...You might want to try OEM to get quality.

I ordered this item for my sister’s 2007 BMW X3 vehicle because it cost $15 less on Amazon. It was received on the date promised and the installation was easy for the mechanic. She’s very happy with the product.

The first time the product arrived, the package was incomplete - the clip and thermostat were missing. Amazon made good and sent a replacement right away. That’s the happy part of the story….The negative-The reservoir is slightly different from the factory or OEM in two key regards: The OEM/BMW temp sender won’t fit- but Dorman supplies one with the kit that will fit the tank. Most importantly - the design of the BMW bracket and heater return requires that the internal o-ring remain captive (in a grove for example) in order to properly seal against the heater return, because there is no clip on this outlet. Unfortunately the Dorman product allows the o-ring to move freely. The licensed mechanic installed a second o-ring from the old tank to try and make this inadequate product seal - which it didn’t. Before you ask- I replaced all the hoses and mounting bracket at the same time.I will let Dorman know about my experience and will provide an update.Lesson learned: don’t buy cheap parts because it will cost you more in the end unless you don’t mind doing the job a second time, or paying someone else to.

Looks and feels very similar to original expansion tank. On installation I can feel play on the heater hose connection. Pulled off to double and then triple checked connection. Put everything together, filled with fluid and it leaks. Pulled heater hose line off and connected it back onto the oem expansion tank and guess what? It's a tight fit. Ended up buying from AutoZone and no leaks. Save yourself time and get another brand if you have a 2007 x3 3.0si or similar.

I am absolutely satisfied with my coolant tank and thermostat. I was having serious leaking issues and ended up replacing my entire cooling system/radiator/hoses. My reservoir was fine but I decided to replace it as well. The local parts store had it for 80.00 but this find was definitely in my budget and it included the tank thermostat. I was skeptical when ordering thinking it was a misleading description but it was exactly what I ordered. My 01 BMW 325I thanks you!

I have this part on my 02 325i, I actually bought it locally, been fine for a few years now. So I thought I would buy another for my E83 X3. Upper connection to the hose leaked. Ok run to the store, buy a new oem hose, exact same leak. Im not happy.

You can easily see and feel the quality of Dorman when you have a knockoff of the same part in your other hand. I've stopped buying other brands of cooling system parts because the cheaper brands seem to fail whereas when I use Dorman parts, it's a one-time lifetime replacement.

Coolant reservoir was delivered today together with the thermostat. The process is not so hard because there are lots of DIY videos on YouTube. The hard part for me is when I was reconnecting the upper hose to the reservoir. I have to remove it a couple of times in order to connect the top hose to the reservoir. No leaks! So far I am satisfied with the result. I will give update in the future.Update: 1/30/21 After almost 3 years expansion tank started to leak from the bottom seal. I bought a replacement from a local NAPA store.

Exiting fit compare at $118 at the dealer this is a bargain. The only thing I have to do was lube up the seals it seem was a little ticker but it was a good tight fit.
