Installed on my 16 Passat but the issue is the still the same. Maybe it's a faulty unit.

Bought one before, and it lasted for about 2 months before breaking, so I bought a second one from this same seller and it only lasted a month before breaking, after opening then I noticed the same gear in it keeps breaking

Correct product to replace one that failed on 2015 vw passat driver side temp blend door. The white arm or rotating part, as supplied, was a bit too large to fit into the VW linkage hole. Was able to pop off both old and new arms and swap just fine. Works like it should, few weeks now. Parts very reasonable price...just wish the time to replace it was quicker (on VW, not vendor).
