Product works with mounting modification. When installed as designed the mounting bolts bend and reccomend'd torque can't be achieved, as the head of supplied bolts dip into the mounting slots. Was able to purchase new Gr8 bolts and washers to use the new Dorman axle retaining plates. This was the better solution due to the process of having to destroy new bearings and seals if I were to have chosen to return the retaining plates and use a different manufacturer. This is a poor mounting design but can be overcome with use of Gr8 washers, but the retaining plates did solve the excessive end play, as they weren't stretched as the OEM one's have done over 20yrs. Adapt and overcome...

I first chose to get this along with a set of Timken SET31 bearings and seal my Jeep calls for when just my seal was leaking. Come to find out just months later my brand new bearing was grinding and leaking around turns. Ripping it all apart again and this time going with a packaged kit from Crown that includes a Mopar style plate with studs mounted and the exact same Timken SET31 bearing packed in OEM Dana Spicer plastic bags, just not pre-greased as Timken packages their retail boxes, I compared the two retaining plates side by side with new seals sitting in their cups. Both of the Dorman 630-999 retaining plates I ordered each have an extra 1.5mm approximately deeper cup depth that the OEM style plates with studs have, equating down to the equivalence of having a spindle-style bearing with the spindle nut backed-off about 1 to 1.5 turns too loose = why my OEM Timken/Dana Spicer bearing became destroyed and leaking worse than it did beforehand. Crown is the OEM discontinued part supplier, if Mopar is out of stock, Crown is the direct next choice

When I searched for retaining plate, the fixed-stud version (preferred) didn't come up so used this "kit". You get 4 loose studs and nuts. If you didn't remove your break pads, you better have skinny fingers to get the bolts installed behind them & lots of patience. You need 5 hands to do the install & luck so you don't tear new bearing seal in the process. Slide (heavy) axle in tube, then try to hold 4 bolts in plate open slots while trying to spin nuts on backside of break plate. Used duct tape to hold bolts in place after 8 attempts. That said, once installed its doing the job. Never again though. .

both flange and bolts were made from very soft steel.. at around 40 ft pounds i noticed the bolts starting to dig in to the flange . So i backed out the bolts and they were actually starting to bend as well. Its not like after you realize the quality you can just take it off and return it. since the bearing and is pressed on top of it..I was able to go get a few washers and grade 8 bolts and make it work.
