This version of the Dorman 742-277 has a plastic gear box.The bolt holes have plastic risers on them so it does not fit flush against the Kwikee step gear box.It will work but there is a gap that allows water to enter the gear box.

Works great on my Type 25 Kwikee RV steps, BUT: polarity is reversed from my original (on 2014 FR3). Since I kept my original pigtail, and it was the reverse of this one (i.e., black to red and red to black), I was able to use it and get the motor turning the right direction. It works very smoothly and quickly.

I used this motor to replace the motor on my RV's Kwikee step. My RV is a 2011 model and this motor fit well. All of the holes lined up, and the sprocket had the right amount of teeth. The sprocket and center shaft are not as deep as the ones on my original motor. Everything works fine, but I wonder if it will last. The original motor's center shaft fit into a hole in the Kwikee step's frame. That is a better setup than I currently have. We will see if this lasts. Definitely better than hopping over my broken steps.

As other reviews mention, I used this for a replacement on the motorized Kwikee Series 32 steps on my motorhome. The only "problem" that I'm going to face is the fact that this one is so quiet I won't know if the steps come in when I close the door. Thirty bucks less than the branded repair item that looks amazing similar....more than covers the one beer it takes to complete this repair.
