Solve the problem on my Ford F250 connect connection to the fuel tank that was leaking

This kit solved my problem!I broke the factory Ford blue clip when attempting to remove. I cut the rear factory fuel line (portion from fuel tank to fuel filter) after measuring the Dorman fuel line. I heated the steel barb fitting with a heat gun and then inserted into the rear OEM fuel line....put some oil on barb prior to insertion. Worked great! Then for Dorman nylon fuel line...I followed the instructions which state to soak end of line in hot water for 10mins then insert into barb fitting. Again, some oil on barb fitting. Worked great! Do not attempt to heat nylon fuel line with heat gun; the hot water will soften it sufficiently to install. NO Leaks!I was hesitant to use this kit due to no clamps used and this is a high pressure fuel system that is fuel injected. But, it worked great! Time will tell if it is a permanent fix. Also, now fuel filter changes will be a breeze with the Dorman quick connect fitting that uses a simple push to unlock feature.

Found vent line leading from the top of my fuel tank to filler net chewed up by squirrels.Fuel cap code on instrument panel. Fitting on vent tube release easy to get .But After a lot of trying got about an hour finally found right angle to get hands in above fuel tank to release that fitting.Took one fitting from old vent line and using heat gun got it on new hose. Tricky to get nylon hose warm enough to get fitting on and not to hot to melt hose. Lad old hose next to new one and with heat gun added bends to match. All great no code and didn’t have to pay $86.00 dollars for hose and probably 150.00 labor. Even If it didn’t work I would have only been out $14.00 But learn something for next time.

Contrary to both Amazon and Dorman, two of these lines, along with one 800-055, replaces all three quick-connect fittings on a 4.0L 2003 Ranger equipped with a Motorcraft FG1061 type fuel filter. The actual assemblies seems to be of good quality, but as other reviews have noted, Dorman’s final inspection failed to notice one kit was missing the barbed coupling. However, Amazon sent a replacement immediately. The included metal barbed coupling are tricky to install – it’s very easy to accidentally deform the line. Boiling water doesn’t seem to get the lines soft enough for assembly – I resorted to a heat gun, which has its own potential risks. Using Dorman 800-191 push-on couplers, in place of the barbed fittings, would be well worth the additional ~$12.

Changed to these on my 96 Fleetwood Bounder motorhome. Was Leary but it fit the 5/15 for line effortlessly. Was a breeze to change with the 5/16 steel to vinyl compression fitting. Needed a small Rubin cutter to cut the old lines back and off, then a heat gun to put these on. That damn simple!

The quick connect end was extremely easy to push on the new fuel filter but the other end where u use the barbed coupling was a joke. They tell u to soak it in hot water for 10 minutes then push it on.. Ya right... doesn't work when it's cold outside or when in a heated garage. Spend the extra 5 dollars for a quick connect coupling or a brass compression coupling..

While this was a proper fit for my application, the front of the fuel filter on a 1998 F150, the required (and listed in the sale) union was missing from my package. This means yet another trip for parts that should already be in my hands. Not happy.
