I had a leaky high-pressure power steering line on a 1999 Volvo S70. There was a leak where the line had gotten crimped (not because of rust). I was unable to replace the line without dropping the sub-frame -- no thanks! -- and so I spliced in a new hose with the old line. It has worked so far: no leaks. Worked out the bubbles and turned the wheel back and forth, lock to lock. Not a drop l;eft the system. The PS line hits 2000 psi, and the compresion union is rated for 5000... so hopefully, it will hold up. I'm happy so far.

The Acura TL’s power steering line is one that weaves through extremely tight passages… dropping the subframe was suggested. Well, after bending and shaping the first replacement and still not succeeding, I made the decision to cut the line to easily pass it through and then used this Dorman 10mm union to repair the line where I made my cut. Currently it’s been a month since the vehicle has been back in use and no signs of leaking or negative impact on the power steering system.

Nobody in my town had metric. So I came here. Bought two extra just to have.

I bought two of these in order to repair a power steering hard line on my 2004 Volvo V70. I removed the bad section of line, obtained a replacement length, and used these couplings to install the replacement line in. I cranked the fittings pretty tightly to ensure no leakage.I made this repair about 5 months ago, and no leakage has occurred. The fittings are starting to rust very slightly, so I coated them with some used motor oil during my last oil change.I do wish some extra ferrules were included in this kit. In the event that I had botched the repair, I would have needed to purchase separate ferrules and probably wait a few extra days. For the price, these worked really well. If I had to do the repair again, I would probably opt for corrosion-resistant versions of this 10mm fitting, such as brass or stainless steel. If used in an application that is low-risk for rust, then these are perfectly adequate.

Used this on a steel steering line on a tractor, the OEM part was discontinued from the manufacture. I was able to cut the tube at the leak and install this compression union and the tractor is back up and running good as new.

Very well built! This is a really nice fitting. Worked well for the high pressure side of my power steering system. Great piece, absolutely.
