This switch is just like OEM for form, fit and function. The backlighting has a slight bluish green hue to it at night but mirrors work fine in my 1999 Malibu. You'll need a small flat screwdriver (jewelers) to get the release tabs loose to remove the old switch.

I had no idea that changing such a small, inexpensive part would fix the problem of my door control not working, I was thinking that there was some kind of cable or wiring that had come lose and would be very expensive to fix. I came across this part by accident, and am I glad I did! I also found other inexpensive parts that had stopped working along the way that were, like this part, very easy to replace ourselves.Update: I forgot to mention in my review that I replaced this part in a 2001 Chevy Malibu.

This is an easy install and it is so nice to have a mirror switch that works. My car is an 04 and the switch had been faulty for years. This has a blu hue to the back light and it works well. Great product.
