This was a replacement for the flawed OEM part, which likes to come apart at the seam after a while. This third-party replacement does not have that seam, so it eliminates the most likely failure point on the OEM part. And it's half the price.Install was easy on a 2005 Dodge T1N. Took me, an absolute mechanical idiot, about an hour to an hour-and-a-half to pull the old unit and install the new one. There are YouTube videos that show you how to replace this part. It's basically two bolts and a hose clamp to remove and then install.

I purchased this to replace the original turbo resonator on my 2005 Dodge Sprinter 2500, which had cracked. This part seems identical, and it may even be better made. It fit perfectly, and I had no issues at all with it.

My 2004 Sprinter came from the previous owner with the aluminum resonator replacement. I've been trying to find ways to quiet the van down a little at highway speeds and found a warehouse deal on this Dorman resonator. The Dormans are better made than the OEM Mercedes resonator. This is a little quieter than the aluminum one. Maybe others might not notice a difference but I do.

It was easy to install, and replaced the factory unit which had split and was leaking boost under load, causing the sprinter to go into limp home mode. Fit my 2005 T1N sprinter 2500.

I have a 2006 Sprinter 3500 Navion that developed a small oil film from resonator output. Replaced OEM resonator with Dornan and have driven 35k troublefree turbo miles since. I have had to replace two additional turbo hoses after spotting an oil film developing at hose ends and tightening clamp resulted in over stressing of rubber. I was advised that an oil film on any part of turbo chain is indicative of an air leak and eventual loss of thrust. Seems to work for me as my Sprinter runs like a sewing machine, smooth, quiet, and reliable.

2006 Dodge Sprinter 3500 2.7; was easy to install; no more underboost problem; engine runs like new. Better built than original, no seam, but it’s made in commy China so we’ll see how long it lasts.

I love this product!! I have a motorhome that has been nothing but problems for me. It’s a Winnebago View with a Dodge frame and Mercedes engine. I’m not real mechanically inclined but I’m sick and tired of throwing money at folks that are making a concerted effort to extorte money. I was driving my motorhome and the thing was driving great and all of a sudden it wouldn’t get over 2000 RPM’s and I couldn’t go over 45mph on the freeway with the pedal to the metal. I pulled over and turned the vehicle off and she ran OK for the rest of our trip. Considering I was aware of another new issue I decided to look into it and discovered it maybe the turbo resonator. Not even know what that was I watched YouTube videos on how to replace it and it was pretty easy, just a couple bolts and a clamp. My 3500 sprinter 2.7L rolling turd as my kids call it is fully operational again! Yay! Just safely traveled 1000miles on a road trip with no issues, that was a first. Thanks dorman, see the attached image of the junk OEM one with the massive seam where the failure occurred.

Got it to my door next day before 3pm, very happy with the quailty of the product as well. Install was quick and easy and I was no longer losing boost over 2500rpm.

Installed on of these on my 2004 van and could not be happier about the construction. Seam seems very solid. The seam on the original was obviously separated and the van had gone into "limp home" mode 4 times (including 1st time on the freeway! 8-O ).I was going to try a bypass unit for $139 and decided against it since there maybe a reason some German engineer put this in the intake path.Plus I can buy 2 almost 1/2 as much and I haven't heard of one of these failing, yet...Not too bad on the install. If you use a creeper, recommend jacking er up and using jack stands or have your mechanic do it.Use ether 1/4" low profile socket (I didn't have one) for the top screw or a low profile ratchet. Lower screw was NP and exposed. Upper was a PITA.They are weird (to me) type of external torx fastener that I may have to invest in sockets for. . Still may not be low profile enough to get in there.I was able to get the old unit out through the top without removing anything else (it is a little tight) and put the new one in.I wiped off the inside surfaces and put a couple of drops of engine oil on the O ring before install and slipped in purty easy. Socket worked great on the hose clamp, but I still used screwdriver to do final tighten so I didn't over torque on plastic pipe.Running great so far!
Namaste!

The Dorman turbo resonator is much sturdier and robust than the OEM by Mercedes as it does not have a seam at the top that has been known to fail and leak that leads to a decrease in turbo boost pressure resulting in a significant loss of power. I noticed a significant increase in power after replacing leaking OEM with the Dorman. My only complaint is the Dorman rubber seal is slightly thinner than the OEM and could be prone to failure. For that reason, I used an OEM seal from Europarts SD. Other than that, the doorman turbo resonator is a great value!
