I read where one customer had attached a small cord to the broken one before pulling it out. That idea worked superbly for me as well. Saved having to remove a lot of things that were in the way.

While not listed for my 96 Explorer Sport this part was identical to the oem part. Installed easily and works as it should.

The description of this item did not include the make and model of my vehicle for fitment but it was the exact one that fits a 96 Ford Explorer. While this new cable is slightly longer it fit perfectly. Intallation was quite simple. It was more difficult to get the original cable out. Highly recommend product but just verify that it will fit your vehicle as the description doesn't cover all makes and models.

Perfect fit for my son's '01 Ford Explorer XLS (even though Amazon indicated it was not a fit). Made sure to verify fitment with several other sources before I bought it. Installed easily and is of good quality.

This Hood Release Cable was professionally installed. But within a few days the plastic release handle inside the car broke easily in my hand. A cheaply made after market product and I advise to just get the factory part for more dollars so you do not end up being unable to open your hood when it matters.
