Risk free - the exact replacement Power Steering Cooler unit for my aged SUV. No certified mechanic skills required to install it. Once I had removed the old unit, it took me 25 minutes to install this new replacement unit and further 20 minutes to refill the steering oil reservoir and bleed the hoses. No specialty tools were required … It was a piece of cake!

2006 Trailblazer. This item fit like a glove. Not like OJ’s glove though. It fit perfectly. It’s aluminum so it’s a lot lighter than the original but it works. Easy to remove and replace. Excellent price and fast delivery.

Perfect OEM replacement, and as you can see from the pictures, it was DEFINITELY time to replace on my 2008 Saab 9-7x because mine had rotted and puked out all the PS fluid last week.Installed on my 08 Saab 9-7x 5.3i withOUT removing any bumper covers or bumper. If you remove a few of the bumper bolts and push-pins, you can actually pivot the bumper enough to wiggle the old power steering cooler out the bottom, and the new one back in, start reinstalling the cooler on the driver side. That way its easier to get the "tubes" through the frame. You will know what Im talking about when you get there. Pro-tip: Remove (and re-tighten later on) the power steering cooler bolts through the lower grill, with an extension. Yes, the OEM clamps are a PITA to remove. You have to grip them with pliers, and rotate them on the hose. Dont try to squeeze the clamp and move it right away, or squeeze and remove the hose, you will be making the job harder for yourself. Open the clamp with pliers, rotate it, move it up the hose, THEN pull the hose off the barbed line coming off the cooler. You're welcome.Ive read reviews of people saying that the Dorman 918-300 bolt holes didnt align up perfectly - they wont if you tighten the other end first. I tightened one end, went to do the other side and it wouldnt line up. Loosened the end I had tightened, which allowed it to wiggle some, and it lined up perfectly. Took me 1 hour from start to finish. Seems really well built and I look forward to hopefully never doing this job again, lol.***2/17/23 UPDATE***The Dorman power steering cooler blew out today, blowing the power steering fluid everywhere. I haven’t had time to remove it yet to examine the mode of failure (todays my birthday and Im not spending it on the cold concrete having power steering fluid drip all over my face!) but when I do, I will update. I got a little under 5 years out of the Dorman.

great product installed it on my gmc envoy in under 30 minutesquick install instructionsjack front end upthe front air dam has a 2 inch high piece attached and hanging from it the air dam piece runs the width of the front end driver to passenger sideremove only that 2 inch high pieceto remove that piece there is a plastic push pin on the drivers side and one on the passenger side that have to be removedafter removing the push pins simply pry the piece off with your fingers and a screwdriver (YOU JUST FINISHED THE HARDEST PART OF THE JOB)now remove the 2 spring clamps on the drivers side that hold the 2 hoses to the cooler (put a pan under to catch fluid)now from the front of vehicle remove the two 9/16 bolts (one on each side of the cooler) that hold the coolerits easy to stick your socket with a 6" extension thru the front end to remove boltsnow gently flex the air dam that is on the passenger side to allow the old cooler to slip past itnow on the drivers side rotate the air dam coils to the ground and while gently flexing the air dam on the drivers side slide the old cooler out( you will see that without the car jacked up several inches you would not be able to do this)reverse procedure and install new cooler and reconnect linesrefill power steering fluid and leave cap offhave an assistant turn wheel rack to rack about 40 times while you hear air bubbles coming from power steering reservoir and refill as necessary(the wheel turns easily, my 10 year old daughter was my assistant)now replace lower air dam that you removednow take car off jacknow start car and let run 2 minutes while you turn the wheel rack to rack about 5 timescheck fluid refill if needed and you are donetotal time under 30 minutesif you thought my review was helpful please mark it as helpfulnext

Love this product !!!Straight fit to my '03 trailblazer.Noted the PS was loosing fluid and traced the leak to the factory fitted Mild Steel POS cooler on the truck. The leak was'ent too bad so tried some PS leak-stop products which did actually slow the leak a good deal but were a stop-gap measure at best.Looked for an OEM part from Chevy and they wanted $230 for one !! The shops around here also wanted a fair amount for the work and I was looking at a $1000+ bill for this thing. So put my interwebs hat on and went to searching. Trailvoy.com had some nice info about changing the cooler and I sourced this one on amazon as a direct fit part. Fitting the part is a bit of a PITA but with the advice from the trailblazer community on the aforementioned site I was able to get this done in about 1.5hours. It will involve pulling the front cowling and steel bumper off your truck (sounds much worse than it is) to get in there but doing this job on your own will save you some serious dough.Could'ent be more pleased with the product, its a straight swap (once you get in there) and I had no real issues with it. The packaging was secure enough that the product came in 100% condition and to cap it all its aluminum not mild steel so I hope it'll last some time up here even with them salting the roads all winter.Quality buy, saved me a ton of cash, could'ent be happier with the product !!
