If you have a Magnum with many miles ,just buy this and keep it for emergencies . But you will need a special screw driver to complete the repair . A hex driver with a stub in the middle of the hex screw . Someone should sell the right size driver on the same as the part

This little piece can sure cause a big headache. After installing the new one I hadn’t realized the old one was the reason for a couple issues. With the new one in my car now starts like it’s brand new.

This piece is metal but yet breaks all the time . You guys need to figure out a stronger metal to use ( it’s ridiculously weak) The metal should not keep breaking like that every few months . The piece works but You will have to keep buying a new one when it breaks . Please do better guys it really annoying .

Lifesaver. Saved me alot of money. Product installed and works perfectly. These parts are not available individually by the manufacturer who would only sell the complete ignition system which is such as waste of money just to replace the 1 broken part.

My Chrysler 300 just wouldn't start one day. Battery was fine, but turning the key to "START" did nothing: no noise, no lights. Google this problem and you will find HUNDREDS of examples across Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep.Getting TO this part requires hours of YouTube searching to find a video for your particular vehicle type (removing the dash requires a fair amount of force to unlock several friction clamps, and the fear of breaking a dash component runs high. This small-ish part (roughly 3 inches by 1 inch) is actually buried inside a much larger switch assembly that is the size of a small Gatorade bottle. Getting THAT part out from behind the dash takes YouTube, dexterity, and patience.Once out, there is some more screws and nerve-racking force required to get the housing apart, but, SURE ENOUGH, the old part with its broken tip will be waiting for you. (The part that breaks off is the tiny little tip--maybe 3/8 of an inch by 1/8!)The metal used for this part is the same as the OEM part, which looks to be some sort of cast zinc--this is NOT steel, or stainless, or any other metal that fills you with confidence...but it does match the OEM material (which, in my case, lasted for enough starts to do 95K miles before failing)! Once I reinstalled everything, it cranked on the first try.As you probably know, Mopar won't sell you this part, only the entire Gatorade-bottle-sized assembly.

This was an exact replacement for the failed factory part. Chrysler doesn’t sell this by itself. You have to buy a $200 full assembly from them. I do wish the plastic were upgraded from the failed factory part but it feels about the same. I guess I’ll be replacing this one in 10 years or so as well.

My key would go into the ignition and just spin, but not turn over or click, or anything.I did some research and found that it was most likely a broken actuator pin, aka this part.I pulled my ignition out and investigated, sure enough, the metal at the end had broken off and stuck in the ignition switch.I rush ordered this part, 1 day shipping, might have been 3 or 4.99 extra but it came shipped overnight and arrived first thing the next day.I replaced it and reassembled the ignition and put it back. My battery required charging but my key turned my ignition over again!I'm not sure how much this would cost at the shop, probably over 200 dollars, there is a couple very informative videos on youtube for disassembly of your ignition to replace this specific part. Also, instructions came with it I noticed when I was throwing out the box after I had finished the job. Good instructions too by the looks of them. For reference purposes, this fixed my 3.5L 2007 Dodge charger ignition with 215,xxx kms
