I installed this in a 2015 Wrangler Unlimited with the upgraded Alpine sound system. In short, it was the best option that I could find that allows you to use a better (CarPlay/AA stereo) while keeping most of the great sound from the factory Alpine system. At length:I replaced a different harness from a different brand which sacrificed a lot of the great sound from the stock Alpine system.- I installed on a 2015 Wrangler and did not notice the installation gap that other people mentioned. This might be year-specific, as I think that they refreshed the dash fascia in 2012.- The upgraded factory Alpine sound system is not wired like a typical aftermarket sound system and third-parties have had a hard time interfacing aftermarket stereos to the existing system. My previous wiring harness toned down the factory amp and all but eliminated the factory subwoofer (it was ~10% engaged at max volume, effectively useless)- This wiring harness does a great job of interfacing with the factory system, with an exception:It compresses the rear and front audio channels, so there is left-right separation but not front-rear (you can verify this with the fader/balance, where piping sound through only the front speakers leads to no sound). This posed a problem with the CarPlay phone call audio, which only comes from the front channels. To fix this, I co-soldered the front and rear channels from the stereo harness to the car's harness (i.e., the front and rear right on the stereo to the rear right on the car harness, the front and rear left on the stereo to the rear left on the car harness). This put the phone call audio through all channels, rather than none. As far as I can tell, this is simply a limitation of the wiring harness and an issue that I also had with my previous one.- This harness seems to make better use of the factory amp (comfortable listening is 10/50 and "loud" is 30/50. With the previous harness comfortable was 25/50 and "loud" was 40/50-- with the top down sometimes I would max out the stereo to get "loud".- This harness makes good use of the subwoofer, but it is not independently controllable. The subwoofer ACTUALLY WORKS with this harness, which it barely did with my last harness. As far as I can tell, however, it is not independently controllable through my radio's subwoofer EQ (adjustments make no difference). That said, you can control it somewhat through low-end EQ adjustments -- though I do not know the exact crossover details of the stock speaker system, but you can get it sounding very good with some adjustment.- The steering wheel controls worked like a charm with my Sony stereo, no complaints there.

It’s good harness kit with dash kit, you have to do little work to fit dash kit properly.

I got a Boss double din head unit and it is NOT a flush mount with the stereo I purchased. The radio sits back in the brackets. I don’t care for the look at all.I didn’t count off any stars because it works but just wanted to warn of the fit.

The item does what it was supposed to. The complaints I have about the dash kit is that I thought this was a “flush mount” kit and it is not. The radio sits recessed the dash. The second issue that I had was with the radio interface. The interface that I needed had a loose wire that I had to solder back into place on the circuit board at least there were two harnesses that I could refer to on to figure out where the wire came from.
