Edge of protective ring is sharp as an open can I've sliced my fingers twice in one use. Extremely dangerous please get a different brand so you do not hurt yourself or others!

This is a review for the "FavorKit Dough Hook with Shield for KitchenAid Tilt-head and 4.5-5.0 Quart Mixers, Polished Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe Kneading Attachment"When I opened the package it looked and felt like a good piece.I bought it for my Artisan, which it fits into perfectly.I have used it to make pizza dough and it works great. I did not experience it moving up the hook too much.It handles dishwashing fine. I have not had any discoloration or chipping.I'm giving 4 stars for now as I test it over a longer period of time. If it shows signs of problems I'll update my review.

This Polished Stainless Steel Dough Hook arrived 2 days early. Wife was very pleased when she first used it to make bread. It is light weight and the top disc is a bit smaller than the original but works excellent. This is a great replacement for the original dough hook for her Kitchen Aid Mixer.

This basic dough hook first my KitchenAid mixer with no issues. The main difference seems to be that it is not coated but stainless like the original.It does the job with no issues, but price is comparable to the coated OEM one.

When it comes to kitchen utilities, I look for stainless steel attachments that reflect quality of workmanship and this certainly falls in that category. This power kneading / mixing arm is relentless at getting all the air bubbles out effortlessly.I think of the countless hours my mother and grandmother spent with hands crippled with arthritis kneading their dough and how they would have loved to have nice Kitchen Aid equipment and utensils that would have made their life a lot easier.This dough hook is essential to my baking and I am so glad I have it.It so easy to place in the dishwasher to clean, I can’t imagine kneading by hand any more.
