You never know when you’re going to need an emergency cue tip and now I can cross that concern off my list!All kidding aside, this is a nice set of tips that will last us quite some time (so it’s great they came in such a nice plastic case).Great value for these tips.

So I ordered this kit specifically to get a bunch of tips so I could practice the whole process of replacing a tip from start to finish, using one of my super warped cue sticks that are no longer any good to play with. I wanted to practice flattening the back end of the leather tip by sanding; applying the right amount of glue; seeing how long I have before the glue sets; shaving the edge of the tip to match the ferrule diameter; shaping the cue tip; etc. I had no intention of actually playing with these tips. And good thing, because these tips have so little height to them, after shaping them a few times you’d need to replace them again, I’ll tell you what.Here’s what I found:Those slip on pool cue tips… who would use these things I wondered. There’s hardly any tip on them at all. In fact, one of my cues with its layered tip that I need to replace still has more life in it than these slip on cue tips, brand new. If you had to shape it at all, it’d basically be time to put on another. What I’m guessing is that these are marketed for people who have those inexpensive little fold-up pool tables with shorty cues, e.g. 48” cues, that are often dropped on a basement floor resulting in the tips popping off. I guess after you play with it a little bit, you simply pull off the cue tip and slip another one on. Sort of weird. And regarding the blue cow leather pool cue tips, after you flatten the backside by sanding it down, glue it, then shape the tip, there isn’t a whole lot of cue tip left with these either. More than the slip-on cue tip, I’ll give you that much. The product photos show people having a great time shooting pool, not snooker. But these tips are 12mm, sized more for a snooker cue than a pool cue, which are typically 13mm or 14mm. I’m not deducting any stars from them on the size, I just want to bring that to your attention if you’re considering this kit. Oh, and just know that they are infused with a bunch of blue chalk, which gets all over your fingertips as you’re trying to install them onto a ferrule.

This is a great little kit. Already repaired a pool cue pretty much immediately after the package came.

These will get the job done. They fit on my cue sticks easily, but do not feel like high quality: they are very plastic-y.
