This item arrived in good condition and was packaged very well. I know bigger and heavier items sometimes get the rough treatment but fortunately this one didn’t. It took a little time to unpack and go through and get set up. It takes up a bit of floor space because I ‘d rather it didn’t blow directly on me or my office items. Once it was ready to go it cooled down my usually warm office quickly and almost too much. I probably will only use the low settings so experimenting with timers and levels and stuff will be minimal. Overall this cooler does its job well. I may have got a cooler too big for the space so it could be transferred to a larger room in the house.

Let me tell you, Texas decided to skip spring and dive headfirst into summer this year. We're already hitting triple digits, and my poor air conditioner is waving a white flag, especially when it comes to "the room," It's that one room in the house that everyone flocks too... You know the one – it’s my office where all the computer gear hums, my den for movie nights, my rec center for video games, and it's a bedroom. So there's always people and pets in there, the gaming platforms and electronics are blazing, To make matters worse, it’s brightly lit all day, which, while great for visibility, turns the space into a certified heat trap. It's always been the house's designated sauna, a good 10 degrees hotter than anywhere else – an absolute oven where trying to work, relax, or sleep felt like a marathon.Enter the Dreo Evaporative Cooler. I was hopeful, but honestly, a little skeptical if anything could truly tackle that multi-functional heat box. Well, color me impressed. I've been keeping the water tank filled (super easy to remove and refill, by the way), occasionally tossing in the included ice packs for an extra chill blast, and the difference is astounding. That former 'oven' is now, no joke, the coolest room in the house.It’s not just a fan blowing warm air around; it genuinely cools the air, and the 80° oscillation means the cool air actually reaches every corner, whether I'm at my desk, on the couch watching a movie, or trying to get some sleep. It’s surprisingly quiet too, which is a huge bonus when I’m trying to focus on work, enjoy a film without a jet engine roaring, or just escape the heat for a peaceful night's rest. The remote is handy, so I don’t even have to get up to adjust settings, regardless of what I'm doing in the room.With the Texas electricity grid constantly teetering on the edge, anything that can provide this much relief in a room that's constantly working overtime (and heating up because of it!) without maxing out the central AC is a win. This Dreo cooler feels like a smart investment in comfort and sanity for my all-in-one space. If you're battling a hot spot in your home, especially a room that pulls triple duty and bakes under bright lights, I can’t recommend this cooler enough. It’s made a real, tangible difference for me.

Best investment for my office ever! My office is a little "nook" off of a main room. This evaporative cooler not only moves a great amount of air, it cools the area while doing it. My office nook gets fairly hot. This fan took my nook from 81 F to 78 F in about 10 minutes. It may not sound like much, but it's much more comfortable.The ice packs seem to last a good long while, and you can boost the cooling effect by adding actual ice directly to the water bucket. I'm not sure if you're supposed to, but I did and it worked.I also like how it locks the bucket in when it's running. This keeps you from inadvertently pulling it out while it's pumping water and making a horrible mess. The fan is also very quiet compared to my other fans. It's got a pleasant "white noise" quality to it that just blends into the ambient sounds of the room. The remote works great as well, easily toggle things like the water flow, oscillation, and the entire unit on and off. You can also set the speed.

This is not going to take the place of an air conditioner but is a nice alternative that will eat near zero electricity. It comes with dual ice packs that you put in the freezer. I’d like to know where I can get a second set of these. This cooler has air speed adjustments, but at the highest setting it moves a lot of air.For me it is the perfect mate to my setup. I have a window A/C that only fits my window in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the air is somewhat trapped in there, so it only provides a marginal cooling; not anymore. With this device it will mildly or rapidly move the air-conditioned air into the whole bedroom.The quietest setting is really nice, but I really like moving it up a notch which blends a gentle air breeze sort of drowning out the mild hum. It’s a great combination for sleeping.They have the option of adding water which will increase your humidity levels in the room. This could be a plus in the wintertime. Overall, this is a great looking unit, and thanks to its tall stature it doesn’t take up a lot of floor space. So, it produces big time, yet doesn’t hog your floor space. The bottom line is that first and foremost it is a good producing fan. Instead of being spread out like a box, it is a column. Highly recommended.UPDATE: The owners manual states that you can add regular ice into the water bin within reasonable limits. This makes it a whole new enchilada. You freezer expels near zero energy in its normal usage to make ice cube trays. This way you can really use this as a moderate air conditioner, and have an endless supply of ice cooling. Ice trays are cheap. So, you are saving a ton of electricity by not having to drive a standard AC compressor, yet getting a nice cooling effect. This does the cooling only when you enable the enhanced humidity levels otherwise it is just a fan, a very nice mild to robust fan.
