Won't cut hardened steel in the low to mid 50's hrc. Doesn't cut annealed tool steel or mild steel nearly as quick as a file of this size and type should. Spend more for a quality file. I ignored my own advice to buy good tools, and immediately regretted it.

I originally brought this for to make a knife. I started using it in stead and I it's a really great file.
