For years I've fought with my normally well-behaved sewing machine when trying to embellish my textile art with metallic threads. Threads would break and twist and tangle [Yes, I use a topstitch needle.] This stuff is magic. Instead of the dreaded mess, it's like sewing with all-purpose poly or poly cotton threads. Follow the instructions. It takes literally 1 to 2 drops directly on the spool. The zero breaks. Yay! I tried it on poly machine embroidery thread and it seemed to calm down tangling that happens sometimes. No stains or marks. Could not detect any residue on the fabric. It did not interfere with my machine tension. It's an old product that needs some love spread around.

I had some 50 weight cotton thread in my longarm and could not get it to stitch out. It was skipping stitches but the needle was new and the tension was good when it did stitch. So frustrating. Out of desperation I put a small line of this down the thread on the spool, like I read that others do. Wonder of wonders, I was able to stitch without changing tension and without skipped stitches. I’m impressed! 10/10 will buy again.

This is something every sewer should have in their supplies. I especially like it for metallic threads. It also is good for hand sewing. A drop or to on the thread helps the thread glide easily through the fabric.

This tiny little bottle lasts a long time & it is one of those obscure little quilting tricks that no one tells you about, but is really amazing. I’ve been quilting for years & thread problems can mess up hours & hours of work. I have no idea why rubbing several drops into a spool or cone makes thread behave better. I didn’t really believe it when I heard about it, but I tried it. I wasn’t easily convinced, until I realized that some of my problems were with thread I had forgotten to condition, or needed more. This stuff helps older or low quality thread from fraying, linking or breaking as much. It helps fancy, delicate threads flow smoother through the needle. Things don’t get jammed up as often, even if I’m using different weights on the bottom & top. It doesn’t stain or remain oily & soaks in quickly. Like I said, I don’t know how or why it works, but I’m a believer now!

I'd just about given up trying to embroider with metallic threads. I read on FB that ladies use this so I gave it a try. Makes a huge difference!
