Drummers and percussions alike have praised its effortless action and speed. With that in mind, the direct Link Cajon pedal (DWCP5000CJDL) was created. Based on the industry-standard DW double pedal linkage, it also utilizes a glidetrack wheel for smooth operation, but features the added reaction time that a direct linkage offers. The unit comes with three linkage lengths and a handy carrying bag.

I recently purchased this cajón pedal and overall, I'm quite satisfied with its performance. The product is well-built and feels very solid. The action of the pedal is smooth, which is a big plus for me.However, there is one issue that I've encountered multiple times during live shows. If the pedal is moved slightly on an angle, it tends to lose its position and the mechanism gets stuck. This has already happened to me twice, and it can be quite frustrating during a performance.I have experience with various pedal brands, and the action of this one is excellent. It's just unfortunate that the mechanism tends to get stuck easily due to the angle. If this issue could be resolved, it would be a fantastic pedal.

It's what you'd expect from DW. It is sturdy, smooth and should last forever. It's totally worth spending the extra bucks to get this vs. the cable-driven ones that are basically a retrofit of standard kick drum pedal technology, just using a bicycle cable as a remote control. They are prone to slipping and wire fraying. This DW pedal is designed specifically for the task at hand.

As a professional drummer I have burned thru, broken, and rage tossed just about every cajon pedal out there. Mid gig cable fails and low end constructions led me to build my own. Which still left me wanting for that ultimate response of a great DW bass pedal. Look no more as this is the pro cajon players dream. Super sturdy, NO Fail prone cables, and oh so deliciously adjustable and responsive. I’m several long gigs and practice sessions in and this thing just plain pounds. The nylon case it comes with is the only drawback to the purchase and I quickly replaced it with a real deal case. A small price to pay for an epic and reliable pedal. Also I recommend a small drip of locktight on the adjustment screws. After a few hours of gigging they wanted to wriggle loose.Higher end cost worth every penny for pro level gear!

I’m obsessed! This has been the answer to my prayers. I’ve always wanted to eliminate a big bulky bass drum for certain playing situations. But I have not found the right ‘feel’ or ‘response’ from other cajon pedals. The cable remote pedals are not reactive enough for me. DW Has invented a new technology with this pedal called direct drive, which is smooth and responsive to your foot technique at soft and loud volumesYou can still adjust the spring tension and the beater throw angle, it’s very customizable and they even have 3 attachments to give the most options for pedal board placement depending on you height, leg length & set upThis pedal has opened up a ton of new doors for me. I highly recommend !

This is everything I needed in a cajon pedal. I had one with a cable and the cable freyed and broke. it’s very difficult to find a replacement cable. . With this pedal I don’t have to worry about that anymore. Especially in the middle of a gig. It’s also very responsive. I use it every week for our songwriters meetup. I also played a few gigs with it with no problems. A little pricey but worth every penny.

I am in the Navy and on deployment, so since I couldn't bring a drum set with me, my buddy recommended I try out his cajon. I loved it, but I wanted to make it more like I was playing a drum kit like I am used to. I've played drums for about 25 years, so I've had experience with good and sub-par drum hardware and products. Now that I can afford better equipment, I go to DW because I know I'll get what I want the first time. And boy, they did not disappoint! I had never used a drum pedal on a cajon before, after setting this up, it was just like playing on my normal drum kit!Set-up out of the box took about 10-15 min. You have two beaters that come in the package that have different firmness for how loud you want the pedal to be. There's also multiple pieces of 3M Velcro strips, extenders to increase the spacing between the pedal and the actual beater, instructions for multiple set-up methods, a carrying/storage bag, and a drum key. The beater portion sits in front of your cajon and the weight of you sitting on it keeps it in place for the most part. Getting a small rug for your set-up would probably eliminate any sliding. The gearing is super-simple. There's no cables, so no lag in the beater nor is there the concern of a cable breaking. And it is VERY responsive. The adjustments on the spring are very simple. And the best part? It takes me about 2 minutes to break it all down and put away compared to the 20-30 minutes I'm used to with a drum kit.Yes, it's probably the most expensive cajon pedal on Amazon, but it's because it's probably the best one out there. It's exactly what you would expect from a 5000 series DW pedal. Just pony up the extra cash once and you'll be happy you did.

The only one to purchase! Tried cabled versions from very reputable companies. Didn't even make it through one gig before the cable snapped. And, I'm not a heavy hitter. This is build like a brick Shi house! The best part is it's so much more responsive than the cabled models. Doubles are a piece of cake 🎂. This is as close as you'll get to a traditional kick pedal!! GREAT PRODUCT!

You'd think I'd have known better after owning a DW 9000 single pedal for over a decade. It feels like part of my foot and has only needed occasional cleaning and oiling. I needed to buy a cajon pedal in a hurry for some upcoming gigs a few months ago so opted for a cable driven, cheaper brand pedal. This proved to be a false economy. The latency proved to be off putting and the cable broke mid-gig during its fifth outing. Decided to spend the money on the DW 5000 direct drive and very happy I did. The response of the pedal, attention to detail, extras provided and build quality are excellent, as you'd expect from DW.
