This is a simple clicker counter that fits in the palm of your hand whether a grown-up or a child. There is a single press button for counting and a twist knob for resetting which you have to wind several times until it zeros. I am not entirely sure of the construction. It's silvery and feels like it could be metal but it is very very light, but it doesn't feel overly like cheaply silvered plastic, tho' I suspect it is at least mostly plastic components. The central counting presser is folded metal. The resetting knob is black plastic. For counting it seems durable enough. It's been tossed in my sports bag and dropped on dirt/ grass. I'm not sure how it would go being dropped on concrete, tiles or ice.I bought it to count the number of balls I bowled during training in the cricket nets, because unlike in a game it is easy to lose count, and I want to know the volume of work my shoulder does to prevent injury. Also, I can work out an appropriate volume if I want to increase my endurance by 5-10% every 2 weeks. However, my primary school-aged children like to use it to help with counting virtually anything, and remembering numbers in the middle of an activity. They seem to enjoy it as a fidget.Pros:Counts upto 9999FunctionalHandyFit for purposeLimitless applications where counting in single digits is requiredChildren like it as a fidget and a simple arithmetic toolQuite satisfying tactile quality to the central depressorNegatives:Unsure about the construction and longevity as I've only had it 8 weeks or so.You can't go backwards in single units, if you pressed too many times; when you zero it, the numbers go 1111, 2222, 3333, 4444, 5555, 6666, 7777, 8888, 9999, then 0000

This is a useful count-tally thing. Not as strong as the old ones I had years ago, but still good.

Had to figure out how to reset it back to 0000. But once I did, it's been great.
