How Does a Fushigi Ball Work?
Isolation
- This move keeps the ball suspended midair, making it look like a fixed point mime technique or something like the sleight of hand trick. The idea is to mask any obvious rotational movements made by the ball, by moving your hands around it, to make it look like it’s in one place, as you deftly circle it, keeping its motion unchanged.
Body Rolling
- This means that you can roll either one or more Fushigi balls by letting it travel along the arms or body, or even your hands, without letting it break contact with any surface. This can look like the ball is in constant motion, gliding along your body on its own, as opposed to physically doing it yourself somehow.
Palm Spinning
- This is used by including either 2 or 4 balls at a time, where hands mimic graceful patterns that allow the balls to transfer between one’s two hands, making it look like it were done using levitation, and not so much a physical thing, by the magician/person performing the trick.

What are the Special Features of the Fushigi Ball Compared to the Classic Contact Juggling Ball?
Special Floating Design
The Fushigi ball does not actually defy the laws of gravity. It is designed so that when it is moved with the fingers and hands properly, it creates an illusion of floating and moving by itself. In this move, jugglers roll the ball with their thumb and opposite middle finger. Then the jugglers use the other fingers to disguise the movement, which makes it seem like the Fushigi ball is floating on its own. All of these tricks are essentially rolling the ball along your skin and disguising the motions to make it look like the ball is floating.
Special Mirrored Feflection
Fushigi Magic Gravity Ball is composed of an internal metal ball contained in a transparent Acrylic ball, inner metal ball has a mirrored surface that creates a more interesting illusion when performing contact juggling. Fushigi's mirrored look creates more movement and creates a better floating illusion.
Professional level of illusions
The tricks each have different levels of difficulty required to perform them. Some of the easiest tricks are simple enough that a focused child could learn them in an hour or two, while some of the most advanced techniques take months to master. I ordered this because I’ve seen the videos and thought it would be super fun to play with. Unfortunately, it was much bigger than I could handle comfortably, and heavier than expected. I have very average hands, not small for a woman. By contrast, you can see in the picture of my husband holding it that it still appears very large and he has hands that can palm a basketball. So, I do think it is weighted nicely for someone who has experience, but for a beginner I don’t know how I’ll manage it. It also has several interior flaws between the inner sphere and the outer sphere. I don’t know if you can see that very well in the picture but all of those small marks are pretty much everywhere on the globe. It comes with a very cheap plastic stand, but looks nice on the shelf.

I'm not one for juggling but I had bought it because of the mirror like appearance. It was easily scuffed up and did not hold it's mirror like shine for long. It is well balanced but somewhat large for small hands. The actual item is certainly not as clear or crisp as the photo implies. Certainly not something I could justify the cost. For this cost, it should include at least 3.

I have other products from this very company that I like -- their range of acrylic contact juggling balls are great -- but this ain't it.Removing from 100% intact packaging, the ball comes pre-scuffed/scratched in multiple locations. There are what would appear to be seams in the insides visible. It has more of a pearlescent sheen than the mirror sheen they show in the product info.It is advertised as 4" so I can't hold this against it, but I have large hands and this is really too big to play with as a beginner. The 2.75" range really knocks it out of the park, fyi.For the price, the knocks in this product really aren't worth it, which is again weird because their acrylic balls are great.

It's a pretty cool looking sphere, with a chromed ball inside a clear acrylic sphere. Or a chrome sphere with a really thick coating. Either way, it's an interesting looking ball. But - there were three scratches, deep enough to be white, each between 1/2" and 3/4" long. I'm going to try and buff and wax these. The inner sphere is not even close to having a "great" finish. It's "OK" at best. It's like they stopped at step three of six finishing steps. When "OK" is good enough.If people are seeing this from a couple of feet away, it looks good. The metal ball is a dull chrome finish - not a mirror finish as shown.

This is a small silvery globe about the size of a tennis ball and not particularly heavy. It is encased in a plexi exterior. There is no liquid of other visible contents besides the ball. The surface of the ball is silvery but emphatically not mirrored--just shiny with visible marks and imperfections if you look closely at it. The ball does not float freely or rotate within the plastic exterior. I would not want to drop this on a concrete surface.It's meant to be used as a juggling prop according to the seller but since I do not juggle, I won't need to figure that part out.It comes with a nice velvet case and a plastic stand. I may make a wooden one for it. There are no instructions or even potential uses supplied by the seller. Mystery is part of the package.I think I will put this on the stand on my bookshelf and let other people wonder exactly why I have this.

I am not much of a juggler. I can twirl a few balls in the air, but you will never see me light anything on fire! The DSJuggling 4" ball is very interesting. It has a polished acrylic exterior with what appears to be a polished metal ball inside. This gives the appearance (or sorta gives the appearance) that the metal ball is floating side air.Notes-- Well-balanced ball - it feels good in your hand and has a very smooth surface- The mirror effect is pretty satisfying. When the ball is on its base it does, kinda, look like it is floating.- Comes with a velvet carrying bag- So far it has been resistant to scuffs and scratched, but I am sure there are limits. I wouldn't want to drop it on concrete. I don't think it would break, but I wouldn't be surprised if scuffed up badly.
