My cats love to chase toys and this is great for them. They tend to pull hard on it and the string doesn't break. The pole is strong and holds up really well to their rougher play times.

These poles extend with a flick of the wrist, but don't collapse. You need to give a little pressure at the base of each section to collapse.Pros:Soft grey grip3 feet when extendedChain clip at end to attach items toNice blue color** there is chineese characters on the main part of the wand. I don't know if this is a brand name or a cheerful little saying. It actually gives it a little pizazz, but I have no idea what it says.

My cats shred ribbons and feathers off of wand toys, and this is a great replacement. Attaching a ribbon was super easy, and it moves well. The extension is pretty long, and I did struggle to keep it shortened when playing with them, but it's great for what it is.

I tried a few lengths and widths of ribbon, and my favorite is an 8' length of 5/8" ribbon. This is sewing ribbon so I think there are better balanced ribbons out there and perhaps they are weighted at the ends...I don't know.It feels a bit like writing with a sparkler.

My 6-month-old Maine Coon kitty really enjoys the toys that I've attached to these two telescoping wands. Playing with them wears him out, so he doesn't get into trouble jumping up on my desk and making toys of my things. The wands retract to 14" and expand to 35.5". There are no toys included with the wands, so you'll need to supply your own. There is a hook on the end that opens and closes like a safety pin, so you can attach toys to it. I'm considering putting up a couple wall mount flag poles in different parts of the house, so kitty boy can have fun with these in two areas of the house and I don't have to hold them while he's playing with them. I recommend this great cat toy!

I've had various cat-toys-on-a-stick and the sticks are too short and/or they break easily. I got a collapsible fishing pole once. And while that worked, it was a bit too long to be waving around and the end eventually snapped off.This rod is much better. The handle feels good in the hand, thick enough to be comfortable to hold but not molded to fit your hand like a fishing pole. The rod parts are thick and don't flex much. This makes it easier to twitch whatever toy you have on the end. Our cat loves it.
