The horn, (horns) was a gift for my neighbor. To be honest the horn set will never be on a boat. My very talented neighbor hand built (a small version of) a semi tractor trailer. It has a gator chassis and drive-train with the wooden body he built, and it is as cool as it can be! He wanted semi tractor horns on it so it would look right, but did not want semi tractor horns as the size (or scale) was off from his small wooden semi. After hearing of his plight, I found the boat horn set on Amazon and ordered them without telling him! A few days later I went to his home to give them to him (they weren't that much). I held out the box and ask him to open it. He was blown away (get it). He was truly overjoyed to have them, he even said they looked polished! As far as used on a boat "elifino". All I know is they are very loud and look cool as heck on a wooden semi. If you ever want to see the horns come to the wondrous city of Bowling Green Ky, during a parade and bring a camera! So, yeah I can only endorse the horns as they would be good on just about anything you can mount them on!

I put this on our pontoon boat. I wanted a loud horn which it is, you can hear Echo off the banks of the lake.But it's not the train horn that make people angry because you just scared them half to death.I have this mounted slightly pointed downward on the underside of the deck of my pontoon so I know water is getting splashed into the horns but because it's at a diagonal angle no problems.I highly recommend this one.

Using these to replace the dinky horn on that was on my 1996 Bayliner Capri 1950, since I wanted to make sure that if I ever need to use the horn, that I am heard. And this fits the bill. Perfect look that I wanted, and these are loud!!!!

Relatively quiet. Exact match visually for old viking horns, but not aggressive or loud at all. Nice old boomer RV horn.
