I bought this to try to convert an old mahogany dining room table top into a standing desk. The base seemed hefty coming out of the box. I spent most of the day putting my new setup together, installing my keyboard tray, etc. only to find that the whole setup was extremely wobbly, even at the lowest height setting. It is so bad that I can't even type. My table top is a bit wide (40"), but even after switching to a 30" piece of 3/4" plywood as the top, it still doesn't feel solid. I've had heavy duty standing desks at work and the feet were just a lot wider and the posts were thicker. To its credit, the motor on the base isn't having any trouble with the weight.
