  • Food Grade Material, Maximum Working Fluid Temperature: 275°F
  • Strong Felt, Carbon Steel Support Ring, Hanging Strap, Singed For Added Strength

Polyester Felt filter bags (PE) are nominally rated. The fabric is singed to prevent breaking of fibers during filtering. Polyester felt is not as easy to clean as mesh but can still be cleaned. Generally, these bags are meant to be thrown away after they are clogged. Polyester has an excellent rating with water, vegetable oils from animals and plants, petro-oils, organic solvents and micro-organisms. Polyester has a good rating with Alkalis, Organic acids, mineral acids and oxidizing acids.

Works perfectly with Phosphate Rx, which I'm sure most people are buying this to use with. Keep in mind, though, that the top is kept round with metal, not plastic. I took out the metal bracing for the top, since I didn't want that anywhere near my reef tank.

I cut them down in two for a secondary oil polisher filter I have. After my initial ( 1 mic.) centrifuge run to clean old oil for fuel in my diesel it passes through this 1/2 mic stuff. It seems to really get the finer stuff out which, otherwise, would silt up a normal 10 micron fuel filter on my rig. Like everyone cautions-filtration,filtration and then additional filtration!

These filters worked well for my needs; next time I'll have to get the smaller versions. The fabric and micron count are correct and well built.

Not great. Its nominal .5 according to descruption, but items that should be blocked out are not. The fabric may be able to block out nominally at .5 but not as a bag. The problem is the seam, where they sew the bag together. Since the stiching is large and there are a lot of needle holes from where items can seep through. the filter may work if you cut it and ensure only fabric is filtering but as a bag, it will have microleage via the stiching area.

These filters have multiple uses besides filtering fuel. They are great filters for overflow pipes in aquariums. I use one in my aeroponics reservoir as a filter. I hang this from the inside of my tote and insert the pump intake into the filter bags. They work great for this. Aeroponic nozzles have very small orifices and are easy to clog. I recently cleaned mine after a year of use without any clogging. There was almost nothing inside the nozzle filters and what little there was was easily cleaned out. What little there was probably fell into the filter bag itself accidentally because 10 microns is very small considering a human hair is 40 microns thick. Highly recommended for aeroponics or even hydroponics. Cheap insurance against clogging.

I have a water cooling system with a huge tank. I needed a 2 foot long filter to capture the alluvial particles. Since I was on a strict budget, I bought two of these, cut the bottom of one and pushed the second one partly through the hole. So for it has worked out fantastically! They are exceptionally sturdy yet supple enough to form inside the tank. I'll be using them again soon...!

Great price, great value. I use these in my 120 gallon saltwater aquarium to filter the water in the sump before it hits the skimmer what a difference these make, being such a low micron, you must change every 2 to 3 days, they will clog up, wash in machine with bleach then run a short cycle with distilled vinegar, let air drive, I bought 5 to always have one ready, think I need 5 more

Using this as a pre-filter, which it will work just fine. Remember, this is not an absolute filter so don't count on it to filter to .5 micron. I was able to make several smaller filters about the size of a coffee filter and it stains most of the crapola out of the water before it hits the actual filter unit. Each of the smaller filters is good for several gallons and I have good success back washing the filters for extended life...
