While I can fix it this copy of the Stanley rabbet plane was built to a pretty low standard.The iron was not even close to sharpened; the throat adjuster is not useable for the forward bullnose plane position, just the frog can be used; and the machine for the adjustable fence is off by ~5* or more.These care not undetected ‘errors’ they are abject inattention to quality control. The fence issue is due to the guide rod hole being bored out of square with the sole, for example.I’m going to true it, sharpen the iron, and probably cut’n’weld the fence arm to make it parallel. This will make it serviceable for lapstrake boat stem fitment and tuning tenon cheeks.

Had to grind slot for blade screw wider and side of blade so blade would fit correctly.Had to grind the frog down quite a bit so shaving would not clog up as bad.Blade had chippes so had to grind edge before honing.The sole was nice and flat and square which surprised me.It works good enough now to make rabbets but my millers falls is so much nicer.
