These de-hookers are simple and perfectly suited for their job. My only problem with them is that people keep dropping them overboard. I'm going to have to attach a float.

I saltwater fish every weekend and keep a couple of these on my boat. I am notorious for losing stuff in the water so love having an extra. But this product works great flipping all the unwanted fish off the hook with no mess. Once you get the technique it works exceptionally well. Stand up well against the saltwater too.

This hook remover is about 12" in length, with about 7" of shaft and hook. The construction is fairly typical of this type of tool (metal rod in the center of a molded plastic handle) so I'm sure that in the future you will likely find some loosening, but I twisted and yanked on this thing, and couldn't get it to budge, so I'd guess I'm looking at a long life to that, and I got 3 of these!!Now to be honest, I haven't done much fishing but I'm looking forward to some in the near future, so as I test it out I will edit this review after I know more. Now as far as the headline on this one, I buried a hook in some pine and tried to get it out before the fish would have died. I'm sorry to say that I had to bury so very many imaginary fish today, tomorrow my back yard will have a definite imaginary dead fish smell to it. But I was finally able to pull that hook out of the pine, a fish was saved...... yes, just one.But with practice the use of this tool will become more fluid and natural, so until then I will say that this seems to be a good buy, especially if you know how to use it, and as a 3 pack you can put them in multiple tackle boxes. For the price 3 of these is a good deal also.Also, if someone could post a video of how to use this, I would be most appreciative.Would I buy this again" Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.
