This is an excellent dust collection filter. After installing it on my Shop Fox W1826 my shop is drastically cleaner with the 1 micron filter. Worth the money for less dust.

I specifically ordered the original model that had the handle on the side and the inlet centered. Instead I was sent the new version with the handle on the top and the inlet offset. I don't like the offset inlet as it makes the filter sit at an angle from the extractor outlet.Nonetheless, it works great. I attached it to my 1hp Rikon and it does a great job. Good suction, great collection, and doesn't get jammed as quickly as the bag which means it maintains that suction. Plus the ease of the cantilever tension band makes emptying a breeze.

I have seen better quality in an elementary school science fair. First, the item in the photo is not the item you receive. This company clearly enjoys false advertisement and fails to change that even after being notified of their false advertisement several months ago. The intake is offset so you have to repeatedly re-install until it is balanced just right to keep the filter and motor from hanging crooked. Collection bag was torn on arrival when I tried to contact the company they would not even respond. I had to have it, so I taped up the bag enough to make it work. The bag attaches at the base using a metal clamp. The inside of the filter is a plastic housing with no support where the metal ring attaches. After a couple months the plastic base of the filter warped causing the bag and metal band to fall off. No way to re-install without it leaking. Contacted the company who offered to reship the item. Only for them to turn around and deny the reship stating they could not exchange the item I would have to order a new one "at their now higher prices". This company sells very poor products at rip off prices and will not even stand by their products without trying to rip you off some more. Rockler Warranty is only 90 days clearly stating even they do not believe in the quality of their own products. DO NOT BUY. In my opinion this company has a severe incomitance problem with their design team giving this to be nothing more than a $300 plus SCAM.

The unit was fairly easy to install but it is a bit big and clumsy for one person. The instructions are easy to follow and the agitator works fairly well. I gave it a 4-star (would've preferred 4.5-star) for 2 reasons.1- The agitator works only on half of the filter inside, not sure yet if that is suffice agitation to relive the filter of dust.2- The mounting screws that connect the clamp to the canister and your dust collector has 2 screws that stripped through and do not secure properly. I checked everything (dry-fit) prior to installing and noticed that issue right away.

I added this filter to the Dust Right Collector I purchased from Rockler. The first thing I noticed was that there was no more fine dust on the workbench or floor. With this filter in place the dust collector works much more efficiently because some of the back pressure flows out through the filter. The filter is very easy to keep clean with the hand cranked shaker built into it.
