The ID wouldnt fit on our input shaft. Got out the calipers. The ID on this is actually 29.72mm... Advertised as 30 and I expect 30!

I was excited but a bit skeptical when I read the description stating the width of these bearings to be 16mm. I carefully read every word in the entire product description and specifications. It states in several places the width to be 16mm. Perfect!! Exact replacement for the existing bearings in my mini lathe headstock!! But no - after measuring the actual bearing, they are 17.5mm wide!!Guess I should have realized the PN of 30206 defines all specs of the bearing, including the width as 17.5mm, no matter how many times the description states otherwise.However after a lot of research, I will keep them and use them as intended. Although the wider dimension requires some modifications to my lathe, the advantage of tapered roller bearings over ball bearings of any design, makes it worth the effort.Update: I have now installed these bearings in the headstock of my mini lathe. I made a couple of modifications to accommodate the increased width. All went as planned - but after installation and running the lathe for the first time the bearing noise from these bearings is horrendous and getting worse by the minute. Grinding noise and bad vibration. I’ve only run the lathe for a total of 30 minutes !! I am quite sure these bearings will fail completely in the near future. They may have already!!Should have bought Timken brand in the first place.
