A very important piece. The old one broke which brought my mowing to a halt. Despite going to the dealer where I bought the tractor, they sold me the wrong piece.This is the right piece, and half the price of the dealer. AND came in a day. Kudos. Very nice. Tough to install, but not the fault of the spring. It's supposed to be taught.,The way I did it was have a partner push on the idler pully with a 2x4 to give me enough slack. I then used a screwdriver to pull the hook over the frame. Easy peasy.

The long end could be a little longer, but this spring fit onto my John Deere 50" mid mount mower deck to keep the drive belt tight on the spindle pulleys. It arrived quickly and fixed my problem.

John Deere S170 idler spring too week and used this one to increase. With shroud metal belt guides belts not breaking or jumping off.
