If you have a DW double tom mount and are only using one L Arm, Then these a perfect. I was able to remove two heavy boom arm cymbal stands and use these instead . With included memory locks. They are a breeze to disassemble and reassemble. I shed 25 pounds off my hardware. Highly recommended if not using both L rods already

You've gotta play with it a little bit to find the way it will best suit you, but...DW's DogBone is straight FIRE. So much easier and more efficient than adding more cymbal stands. I have actually started using this when I play small-medium gigs/venues to replace an extra cymbal stand (3 crashes, 1 ride, 1 hihat). The DogBone attaches to my boom cymbal stand holding my crash that sits above my ride, and the DogBone attaches onto the end of the boom, with enough movement area to get into the perfect position. Handles like a champ!DW also makes a smaller version called the PuppyBone. It works well, and is cheaper, but doesn't have nearly the amount of "wiggle room"/movement area as the DogBone. For me, it really only works well with getting a splash cymbal into an easier to reach spot, but at the same time takes a bit of rearranging to make it perfect.Either way, highly recommend both options! All drummers, check them out!

This is one of the most innovative yet simple piece of hardware every drummer needs in their hardware bag.

Drum Workshop is to drum hardware as Rolls Royce is to automobiles. My kits are complimented with as much DW hardware, save for their cymbal stands, as I can afford and find for a song. I'd love to one day have a set of their drums.I replaced a standard bracket and cymbal boom arm on a vertical tube with this attachment onto a Pearl-830 boom stand with a tripod. It's noticably heavier than what it replaced, but is stable with an 18" medium weight cymbal. It attaches onto the main stand's boom arm through an eyelet on the DW. I tried it on some unknurled boom arms, but it seems to need the knurled surface to hold with confidence. The DWSM799 has the ability to create two angles with its two clamshells (imagine an open or "3-sided" square [vs. an open or "2-sided" triangle]) when only partially inserted onto the main boom arm, but this greatly diminishes the strength of the arm. A 15" cymbal was unable to be supported that way. Perhaps I'm doing something incorrectly. More tinkering will occur. It took some extra time to find the ideal positioning on account of the attachment being reliant upon the main cymbal arm's positioning. Zeroing in a setup's positioning is certainly something we're accustomed to doing.P.S. It cost $28... bargain!

Was just what I needed, made use of a double tom stand that was only used to hold 1 tom tom. Now it supports my little 10 inch splash, thanks again.
