I bought this to replace a 450 that I broke yanking a stuck label out of. I had a lot of questions about it that I couldn't find answers to anywhere so thought I'd share here in case I'm not the only one. This is the only thermal printer I can find that prints at 600dpi. Both sides are identical - they both print labels up to 2.2" wide. Both sides print at 600dpi. You have to get Dymo or compatible labels - they have a hole in the backing in front of each label that the printer uses for alignment (which disqualifies most of the cute labels with shapes and colors). In the print dialog box, you can choose left side, right side, or auto. Auto will automatically start printing from the last side you printed from, and then from the other side when the first side runs out of labels. You can change the labels out on one side while the other side prints, so the printer never has to wait for you to change the labels. This is a very good thing. I thought the print quality on my old 450 was great until I got this one - I can do solid black shapes with no lines at all. Looks professionally printed. I'm really impressed with the refurbishing job they did. I use it for product labels. The old 450 forgot how to count if I (or usually my dog's tail) bonked the printer cable and would just keep printing infinitely, and sometimes it would do weird things with the sizing and needed to be restarted regularly. This printer does none of that weirdness. I wish I broke the old one sooner - this printer saves me so much time and ruined labels. And the price was terrific. Thanks refurbishers!

Had DYMO support on the phone they could not make it work. They were going to replace but model is discontinued. Told me to return to Amazon but return window closed
