I tried numerous off brand tools that look like and do the same job as this tool. The problem is that the other tools just don't make my life easier and this one does. From keeping the belt on the tension bar, to maintaining tension, this tool just works. It is powerful and cuts down filing and deburring time in tight spaces. I didn't know what I was missing until I took the plunge and spent the money. I keep this tool plugged in and on the fabrication table now.

I love this thing, except it is made in the People's Republic of China. Handy little tool though. I typically use it to grind welds, rough out carvings and to file my fingernails (extra fine grit).

I bought this from Amazon Warehouse (it was a previous customer return) and got it today. The rear cover was loose from the motor housing. I thought at first that it was a loose screw. However, the motor housing itself was cracked in two, just rear of the armature assembly. The entire motor housing is plastic and it is no surprise that it would break near the rear bearing. It's hard to believe that the thin plastic could withstand any torque. The internals of the motor section of this power tool is the cheapest I've ever seen. Made in the PRC (People's Republic of China).Very bad, indeed.Returned for refund.

This thing is awesome! For me is not a tool i use everyday, but when you need it, nothing else can do what this does. I lusted over them for years, just not sure if they were worth the price tag. I lucked out and grabbed one for less than half price (open box from amazon), but even if I'd paid full price, i wouldn't be disappointed.

We had a pneumatic dynafile at our shop for 2 years, and it finally died after heavy usage doing metal fabrication work. Was looking to replace with the same tool, and found this electric version. We have found its more consistent and easier to manipulate compared to the pneumatic version. At a much lower cost its worth considering, we will not be going back to the air power versions again. Highly recommend tool for metal fabrication! We use it for clearancing, smoothing, grinding, deburing, etc.
