A perfect pack for a young fledgling photographer to learn the rules of composition. I ordered full sets of all three sizes and each one comes in its own well constructed acrylic pack. Included is a bonus ebook to download which is well written and informative. There are three size ratio options. 4:3 3:2 and 16:9 Compositional guidance is crucial when starting out and these packs are excellent

These are great for teaching.Very nice durable perspex case with a magnetic closure. They're sized closely enough that they'll work roughly with most 3.5-4" camera monitors or just on their own as compositional tools.Nice easy way to explain to students what may or may not work in a frame.

I've taken photos for most of my life, starting with a small Kodak Instamatic. I am an amateur who, hitherto, has taken snaps more than I have made photographs.Twelve months ago, I decided to improve. I purchased a full-frame camera and several lenses and spent 6 months becoming familiar with my equipment and the elementary concepts of photography. I studied many YouTube tutorials.Recently, I ordered all of the CLPA Video Photographic Viewfinder Sets, including the 4:3 (video), the 3:2 (F/F), and the 16:9 (iPhone). I use my iPhone more than my F/F camera. The compositional overlays have been extremely helpful. One can go online and look at tutorials; however, there is a big difference between watching a video and actually clicking your camera's shutter button while receiving first-hand guidance. These overlays are excellent for beginners, even perennial beginners such as me. Having compositional guidance on your camera's screen is brilliant. I am now making pictures, not taking them. The Composition PDF.A PDF is available to those who purchase one of the kits. It is around 82 pages, and it is outstanding! It covers the history and development of photographic composition and applies the concepts to the tools one has purchased. The PDF is as important as the overlays. One can find information online from disparate sources, but this PDF has collated critical information and knowledge into a convenient, portable document. The author knows his/her stuff! If you're serious about improving your practical knowledge of composition, I can't recommend the CLPA Video Photographic Viewfinder Sets, including the informative PDF, too highly.

I am not sure if I am using these wrong- I got the set to use with a smart phone but the cards are much smaller than my screen so I guess I need to hold the are at a distance that it matches up? I haven’t downloaded the instruction book so this is on me.If nothing else the cards are good ideas for how to compose a photo in more ways than the “rule of three”. And the case they come in is great.
