I ran the earlier version of this (an HD1E8, no "P") on my '99 evo. Then I let the magic smoke out of it when I tried to jump start it with a booster unit. No spark after that.This version replaced the previous one without a problem, plug and play, and works at least as well or better. I may be imagining it but the bike seems to start much more easily with this than it did with the previous one. Maybe I partially fried the previous one at some point before I completely smoked it. I get impatient sometimes.
