Works great. Implement over stock 986 shifter. Had to pull both washers to get it to fit.

The product itself, once installed, is excellent - I give the actual product 5 stars. The shifts are short, tight, and buttery smooth, and once I spent several weeks debugging the install and poor instructions and worked around the poor customer support, and modified this actually fit into the car great.The product description, install instructions and support - I give 1 star. The product page is misleading, the instructions are non-existent, and the customer support was actively unhelpful.There are three major issues with the product / install:1) It is designed for a right hand drive 911. The shift lever needs to be removed, and reversed for LHD 911's. This is not mentioned in the product listing or instructions.2) It comes with washers buried in the bushings that make it not fit. After extensive research on other product listings, I got lucky and found people mentioning in the reviews that you have to disassemble the bushings, remove the washers, and then reinstall.3) The product came with no instructions, and when I contacted support for instructions, none of the above was included in the instructions. They didn't tell me about the bushing issue, but instead implied that I was somehow installing it incorrectly. And they didn't mention the need to reverse the shifter.

This shifter is good, huge upgrade! my porsche 996 feels so much better than the stock porsche OEM (plastic) at only 69k the old shifter was deteriorating and feeling very wobbly.*NOTE: the only reason why I'm not giving this shifter a higher rating it's because of the lack of instructions and you need to modify the cup where the shaft goes in, I removed a washer to fit it into the Porsche shift housing, also had to tighten the two 13mm to make the handle feel more precise.If you're not mechanically inclined DON'T buy it. You will be required to have knowledge to be able to successfully install this product.
