Mufflers seem to be good quality. Have a nice deep tone thats sounds great on my 2010 hyundia genesis coupe 3.8lWould definetly buy again

I had gotten like 4 different measurements on this thing. It is for sure 16.5 inches tip to tip. I bought these to try out over my SLP LM2 mufflers. The SLP is slightly louder with a better tone on my LS2 corvette. The dynomax was slightly deeper in tone, but sounded more restricted and cluttered. The actual muffler was welded nicely and slipped on pretty easily. The tips were not 100% lined up, but were super close. These are definitely aluminized/coated/galvinized steel. They would rust eventually, but the parts description is accurate on that. If they were louder I would have kept them. Muffler videos on youtube can be so deceiving...

I had installed a Dynomax 17217 Ultra-Flo Welded Muffler on my 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S (273 Commando V8) to replace the old Commando turbo muffler that had rotted out internally. It fit perfectly but was much louder than the turbo muffler, raspy, and had an annoying drone around 1900 rpm. Lost the nice deep tone of the original muffler. So I installed the Dynomax 24246 Race Bullet Muffler ahead of the 17217 muffler, to use as a resonator (as Dynomax recommended). It completely removed the drone & raspy sound and brought back the factory Commando turbo muffler deep sound, but a bit quieter for cruising. To my ear it's perfect, nice deep burble at idle, nice deep purr at cruise, and speaks when I step on it. I'm very happy with this setup, sounds better than ever. And since both are stainless steel I don't expect to be working on the exhaust system again.
