Like a lot of high school kids, Curt Strohacker worked in a service station to earn some spending cash, but he also repaired cars in his free time, buying and selling countless vehicles, and learning valuable lessons about restoration. As the market for automotive refurbishing began to take off in the 1970s, Curt realized that proper tools and techniques could save enthusiasts like him time and money.

So in the fall of 1978, Curt launched a business to better serve the burgeoning market of auto restoration and customization hobbyists, and he called it Eastwood.

Cart appears to be sturdy and was easy to assemble. Some of the fasteners were of poor quality and needed to be re-threaded. The top shelf is too slick

I am A DIY retired guy with some tools in a limited garage/shop environment. Have a couple of welders that needed a home and a means of easily getting them around my shop. I thought about actually building a cart, but between the price of metal, parts, and time I selected to grab a fabricated kit from Amazon. Total time took less than a couple of hours to put together, including a slight modification. Overall, the kit is of sturdy construction, the metal is a heavy gauge, the paint is even and nicely done, the metal cuts are crisp, and the edges and corners are done correctly, the wheels and casters are of decent quality. The only ding I would give is the bolts and nuts, typical of imported low-cost products, these are barely useable. My suggestion, before you start assembly, go down to the local hardware store, and pick up some stainless steel or grade 8 hardware (I would give this product 4 and half stars if possible due to the soft hardware, although I feel partially at fault as I was using a power driver to assembly the cart -- so basically tight but not too tight).The modification I made was to move a side support for the mid and upper shelves so that I would be able to open the side panel on my Lincoln 180HD wire feed which sits on the bottom shelf. I simply drilled five new holes, moved the support, and the shelves sit nicely in place. The cart was designed for a MIG/TIG welder, so my Alpha 200 sits perfectly on top. This cart is basic and just adequate size for its intended purpose. If you don't expect too much on the onset, you won't be disappointed, in fact, this is a nice piece of hardware and does exactly what I wanted it to do. I would recommend.

This is a great cart. Sure, it's not the cheapest but it's still a very reasonable value. Many things you purchase nowadays seem to disappoint, too flimsy, too small, and they often do not live up to their descriptions and photos. This cart did not disappoint. It's sturdy, it has great casters and good wheels. It holds my Millermatic 130 perfectly and makes it easy to move it around and do good work. It was easy to assemble, packed well, good clear instructions and all the parts were there. It looks like it will hold the bottle as described, though I did not use that feature because I plan on only using flux core wire. I would recommend this cart and buy it again.

Most good carts are priced well above the price on this one so I was hoping it would be good. It came well packaged with no damage to any of the parts in the box. All part were included and instructions were pretty straight forward. Honestly, if you struggle to put this together you probably shouldn't have a welder. The overall construction seems strong enough for the job and its got great room for a lots of different welders on the top the shelf. I mounted my Lincoln Electric Pro-Mig 140 on top with no problem. The bottom shelf will hold a plasma torch easily. I would recommend this cart for any DIY guy or girl in their garage.

If I could have picked "4.5" stars I would have. Considering the relative reputation of the Eastwood brand, the only thing I would have liked to have seen for the money was a slightly heavier gauge metal. Not for "off road". Otherwise the cart came together nicely with no modifications required. Instructions were simple and easy to follow.
