The Ecolink Garage Door Tilt Sensor Plus is an excellent addition to any smart home setup. Its compatibility with Hubitat and other Z-Wave Plus systems ensures seamless integration. Installation is straightforward, and the sensor's solid-state accelerometer provides accurate open/close status updates. With a remarkable battery life of up to five years on a single CR123A battery, this sensor is both reliable and low-maintenance, making it a smart choice for anyone looking to enhance their home security.

This was easy to install. I used the double sticky tape instead of the included screws. Has worked 100% reliably on my Homeseer home automation system. Gotta love a product that is easy and reliable.

Got tired of waiting for Ring to get the Ecolink tilt sensor in stock so I bought this. It is Z-Wave and works fine with Ring. Uses a solid-state sensor so you won't have the issues with a ball bearing. As to battery life, we'll see. The app is a bit screwed up, in that "closed" shows as "Cleared" and open shows as "Faulted" in the event history, but where it counts in the settings, you can get specify getting opened and closed alerts. You can set a "Chirp Tone" which is played when the door opens. Overall, the app has UI issues that needs solving but works for letting me know when the garage door opens.

Works with Ring. With Nexia it enrolls with no issues but for some reason Nexia see the door open message as intrusion detected and the close message as intrusion cleared. This is from the Nexia event log. The status of the door never changes! So I am using it ring and creating my automations in Alexa!

I'd give it 5 stars for easy installation and reliable operation, but 1 star because they don't even pretend to have any contact for support. The battery always reads 100% (with SmartThings and Hubitat), so I need to just replace it on a schedule but why can't they eventually fix this? Anyway, that averages out to 3 stars.

Crap. I'm using this as a garage door tilt sensor. It only senses the door opening or closing roughly 50% of the time.Sensor was difficult to pair with my Smartthings hub. I had spend an hour Googling and had to install 3rd party drivers on my Smartthings hub.It worked OK at first once I finally got it installed and paired with my hub but now it frequently misses door openings or closings. If I slap it a few times it might work better for a day or two but then it goes back to not activating. It's like it worked just long enough to miss the return window.Yes, I changed batteries, unpaired, re-paired, etc. Sensor and hub are well within range per zwave specifications.

Price -A bit much for the tech inside. Shouldn't really cost more than $20, but this is pretty much a one time purchase that should last for decades. 5/5Packaging -Comes in a small box. Tells you exactly what's inside. It comes with a mounting bracket, screws, adhesive strip, the sensor, a CR123A battery & a manual. 5/5Design -Super duper easy to set up. As far as quality it is definitely not heavy duty and like the majority garage door sensors...the plastic housing is mostly air. To get started you press the clip in to open the housing. Once open you insert the battery to power it on. For the mounting bracket you can either use the included screws or adhesive strip (I recommend just using the screws for longevity.) There is also an additional small screw to secure the sensor to the bracket which prevents tampering.I was skeptical if this would work with Ring because this is the newest version and Ring advertises/sells the older version, but Ring was able to find it within a second of it powering on. Ring detected it was an Ecolink garage door sensor as well. Through Ring you can configure the name, open/close alert chirp (depending on the sound you choose it'll play from either the keypads & base or just the base,) assign it to a room as well as look at the event history. I did notice the alert sound was delayed by maybe 15-30 seconds after the open/close event is triggered. 5/5Overall, it works as advertised and even better it is compatible with Ring! I'm currently using it as a backup sensor for my current smart opener that tends to send random alerts when passing cars cause the garage door to slightly shake. We'll see if this does the same, but so far so good!5 out of 5 stars
