I used these for a craft project, cutting them to size. These are one-hole straws, not like the black plastic which is two teensy holes. I drilled holes for tiny drill bits and mandrels, then made the holes slightly smaller by inserting a straw in it (because tiny drills are not made to go into wood).

These stirrers/straws are perfect and indeed very much like the ones that I can buy in my grocery store. The big advantage of these straws is that they are in a sealed package. You have to actually tear the top off to gain access to the straws.
