Great soil moisture monitoring system. Easy to setup app use is also easy to follow. The graph are Great to Leo track of the dry back your soil gets. The gateway reads temp and humidity and pressureThe sensor reads the soil moisture and the graph gives you dry back data but the sensor DOES NOT give you soil EC or temp.

I just received and set up the hub and four moisture sensors, so I don't know anything about longevity or battery life. I can report on the installation process and how the system performs.Setting Up the HubThis was a little tricky. Something I don't understand is why foreign companies, especially those in China, don't contract with a technical writing service in an English-speaking country to edit their instructions. The phone app was very good at listing the steps to take in getting the hub connected to one's WiFi router; the language, however, was somewhat confusing. For example, the author of the app seemed to be confused about the words "above" and "below. There was text that referred to the option "below" when the option button was actually above (the option below was a different option). An instruction told one to turn off the phone's mobile data connection but didn't say or suggest how to do that. Fortunately, I recalled that one has to do that when traveling on an airplane and that the phone has a convenient "airplane mode" button on the settings screen to turn airplane mode on and off.Another problem was that the box that contained the hub along with one moisture sensor had no instructions for setting up the sensor. Figuring that the boxes with only a sensor would have to contain some instructions, I opened one of the three boxes of additional sensors, and there I found the instructions. That setup process, by the way, was really easy: the sensors connected themselves automatically once a battery was installed.Viewing the DataEcowitt allows one to view the data both in a phone app and on the web. However, the instructions for doing this is very sketchy, and I mostly figured it out solely by trial and error. One source of confusion was the two Internet domain names used by the company: ecowitt.com and ecowitt.net. The latter is the one to use for accessing the data.I am very happy with the options for displaying the data. One can also set up notifications so that one will know when the soil has gotten too dry. I haven't set that up yet; I need to gain some experience with the values displayed as the soil dries out. (My sensors are in the lawn outdoors, and we've had a week of rain. So I've got a good idea of the readings for a well watered lawn.)ManualsThe manuals that come with the units are so small that reading them can be a challenge. It might help to download PDF versions from s.ecowitt.com. Look under the "Support" tab and click on "Manual & Firmware".AccuracyTo get an idea of the accuracy, I inserted all four of my sensors in essentially the same place. The readings are now 57, 58, 58, and 63. I'd call that pretty good, certainly good enough for gauging when watering is needed. The readings had been rather varied when I had the sensors installed in different parts of the yard, so this uniformity is reassuring.
